in the Comox Valley

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to explore my website. I am a Registered Social Worker with over 10 years experience in the Mental Health and Substance Use field with a specialization in complex trauma in children (3+), youth and adults. I believe that every person I meet has an inherent capacity to heal and it is my privilege to help you uncover your inner strength to grow. I am proud and grateful to practice on the traditional unceded territory of the K’ómoks First Nations.

Counselling

We all experience stress in our lives. How do you react to stressful events? Some people lash out, others shut down. What we don’t realize is that often how we react in the present is unconsciously directed by our past experiences. We get stuck on a loop that may have been useful at one point in our lives, but is now causing us harm. Counselling can offer a different pathway forward. My approach to therapy is rooted in first understanding your strengths and resilience and then forging a new path together towards healing and growth.

EMDR

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. This approach to counselling was originally developed to help treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and since that time has been used to assist with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, problematic substance use and more.

Service Fees.

Current rates for individual sessions are:

FREE- 15 Minute Initial Consultation (via telephone or video)

$140- 60 Minute Session

I am a First Nations Health Authority approved service provider.

I am registered with Medavie Blue Cross.

I am registered with Autism Funding Unit

Services may also be covered by your insurance provider.
